Case Study: Arity Corporate Photoshoot

Leadership Portraits

It’s so rare to have a leadership team all gathered in one place, so when they are, their time is extra valuable. We designed this part of the shoot with two cameras, and two lighting setups, so the leadership could move directly from their environmental portrait setup (a photograph of them in the office) straight into their formal headshot, spending no more than 15 minutes on set.

One of the things we pride ourselves on is getting our subjects comfortable so we can get authentic expressions and emotion from them. We love how we captured the personalities of the leadership team in these shots.

Headshots

Headshots are such a important part of an organization’s presence in the world, especially now that we do so much work online. That’s why we have a whole suite of services related to them which you can read about here: https://www.jumppoint.tv/creative-headshots

For Arity, we kept it simple. We delivered versions of each headshot on white, and on a transparent backdrop, giving them the flexibility to use them in a variety of formats. We went for warm, approachable smiles for the group and formal business attire. The lighting is soft, but without much fill light, communicating that these are friendly people who are serious about what they do.

Employee Portraits

While we were there, we were also tasked with capturing portraits of some employees. For these photos, we were tasked with capturing the employees in their actual workspace, so we could communicate in a single frame a bit about their personality, as well as the nature of their work. We ended up with people from various teams, design, sales, and engineering, and tailored shots to each.

Office Photography

Our final task was to capture frames showing off their beautiful office in downtown Chicago. When we’re photographing spaces, we often composite together multiple different photographs to create one final frame. We also incorporate architectural photography techniques, with a slow shutter to show movement, and how people fit in the space, without drawing too much attention to individuals.
